3D WEAVING

2019

The project „3D WEAVING“ uses algorithms from graph theory and applies them to the investigation of mesh geometries. It enables the use of graph-theoretical algorithms. The MeshGraph is an abstract construct that combines the geometric properties of the mesh with sets of linked data containers. The data containers, which can be visualised as mesh faces, are the nodes of the graph and the connections between them are the graph edges. The graph edges were interwoven using the U and V directions on a Schoen’s Batwing Surface, which is a Triply Periodic Minimal Surfaces.

The result was produced by unwrapping the the multi-curved surfaces, labelling it  and using  digital fabrication technologies.
