PLANT B

2018

The project „plant b“ deals with alternative manufacturing methods in the field of design. Nowadays it is important to strive for a more responsible use of ressources. Especially in the field of material design, it is important to search for alternative concepts to create digitally designed and sustainable structures.
We developed a method to create complex spatial structures from a cellulose material that are hardened by growing organisms (wheatgrass and mycelium) and different waxes (stearin and beeswax). The result is a biodegradable composite which can be returned to the production cycle.
